Series 2 of the Pokemon Tomy Scratch Set

In 1997, TOMY Japan introduced an expansion to their initial Tomy Scratch card set. These are even more difficult to find than the original series 1 set, which was introduced in May of 1997. Tomy released both sets of Pokémon scratch cards in conjunction with Nintendo. The gameplay necessitated scratching off card backs (to reveal moves), so it is very rare to find either Series1 or Series2 “unscratched”.

The Series 2 expansion introduced 36 new cards (including six new holos).  Set list and images below:

If series 1 wasn’t tough enough to collect, series 2 is even scarcer. After two  years of searching, I finally completed an unscratched set!  These are off to PSA to be graded and will hopefully be back by 2022!!
